Bridge Inspector INDOT EXP
Overview
A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Bridge Inspector INDOT to support and grow within its structural inspection team across the Midwest. This position offers a clear path to leading inspection efforts while working on transportation infrastructure projects for public-sector clients.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with field-based bridge inspections, including documentation, data collection, and report preparation

Maintain and organize inspection equipment, coordinate schedules, and support team logistics

Progress into a leadership role overseeing on-site inspection activities

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including roadway, water resources, environmental, survey, and utility professionals

Ensure accurate data entry and compliance with inspection standards and reporting requirements
Qualifications

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), or

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program with EIT certification, or
-
Equivalent experience (3+ years) in bridge design, construction, or maintenance in lieu of a degree

Familiarity with state-level bridge inspection standards is a plus

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word

Ability to work in field environments, including uneven terrain and active job sites

Valid driver’s license required

Willingness to travel for inspections (including occasional overnight assignments)

Interest in advancing to a Bridge Inspection Team Leader role
